My name is Samara and I am a third-year Sociology student with a minor in Management and Society. As co-president of the SLSA, my aim is to help nurture a sense of community among students within our department.

Hannah

Hello! My name is Hannah and I am a 5th year Law and Society Honours student. My Honours research involves videoconferencing in immigration law and how video conferenced proceedings impact litigants' attitudes toward the justice system.

Hi everyone! My name is Nour and I am a fifth year Law and Society major (with a minor in Sociology). I am passionate about reading, writing, and all things law!

Brianne

Hey, my name is Brianne and I’m a 4th year Law & Society student, some of my main goals this year is to help other Law & Society students excel in their studies and enhance their university experience with advice I’ve learned throughout my years at U of C.

In my free time, I hang out with my friends, read, or hit the gym. I’m super excited to meet everyone at our events this semester.

Claire

Hi everyone, my name is Claire! I am a third-year sociology major minoring in history. This is my second year with the SLSA, and this semester, I am thrilled to be the VP of events. I cannot wait to see everyone at all our upcoming events this semester :)

Abraham

Hi, I'm Abraham. I'm a 4th-year Sociology major and I joined the team last year. I'm an event coordinator this semester and hope to host some great events for you all along with the rest of the events team. One of my goals for this semester is to help build this community and enable people to build some meaningful connections.

Outside of that, I love playing football and reading manga during my free time. Please feel free to talk to me about anything related to the events or just anything in general too, I'd be glad to get to know you all!

Hi, my name is Joshua DeGuglielmo. I am a third year with a double major in Sociology and Communications Studies. I am a published author and spend my free time volunteering and in groups striving for advocacy.

Jennel

Hi! My name is Jennel and I am the Vice President Internal for the SLSA team. I am currently in my 2nd year of Sociology and I am also your FASA Sociology Representative for Winter 2024. When I am not busy doing school and getting drowned by readings, you can catch me exploring around Calgary (usually trying the newest eats).

I am often around campus so feel free to say hi and ask questions about the club. I hope to be able to get to know you all and I am looking forward to working together with everyone this semester!

Kyla

Hi, I'm Kyla. I am a 3rd year Law and Society student with a minor in Political Science. I am a very outgoing person and love to spend my time socializing with my friends, working out or reading.

Once my degree is completed, I want to go to law school and become a corporate litigator or criminal defence attorney.
